Programme of the ceremony

 

17 May (Friday)

 

5 p.m. Piedimonte San Germano – the laying of wreaths at the memorial commemorating the 6th Armoured Regiment “Children of Lviv” Programme:

-          the playing of the anthem of the Republic of Poland and the anthem of the Republic of Italy;

-          the welcoming of the guests;

-          speeches;

-          the presentation of gifts made by children to the Veterans;

-          the presentation of medals;

-          a Remembrance Roll Call;

-          the laying of wreaths;

-          the playing of “The Red Poppies at Monte Cassino”;

-          a commemorative photograph;

-          the conclusion of the official part of the ceremony;

-          a concert by the Representative Orchestra of the Polish Army.

18 May (Saturday)

 

4 p.m. Polish War Cemetery at Monte Cassino – an open-air mass combined with a Remembrance Roll Call and the laying of flowers. Programme:

-          a Holy Mass;

-          prayers by ministers of other faiths;

-          the playing of the anthem of the Republic of Poland and the anthem of the Republic of Italy;

-          the welcoming of the guests by the Head of the Office for War Veterans and Victims of Oppression;

-          speeches;

-          a Remembrance Roll Call;

-          the singing of “The Red Poppies at Monte Cassino”;

-          the laying of wreaths;

-          the playing of the St. Mary’s Trumpet Call;

-          the laying of wreaths and flowers for other participants in the ceremony;

-          the conclusion of the ceremony.

Before the ceremony, the following films on the Battle of Monte Cassino will
be shown on the big screen: The Great Road (Wielka droga) (by M. Waszyński), Monte Cassino. The Last Chapter (Monte Cassino. Ostatni rozdział), The Youngest Soldier
of General Anders (Najmłodszy żołnierz gen. Andersa)

of General Władysław Anders (Largo Generale Anders – Cassino Historical Museum);

5 p.m. Acquafondata – the laying of flowers at the Commemorative Memorial, the original burial site of fallen soldiers 2. Polish Corps.

 

21 May (Tuesday)

 

10 a.m. San Vittore del Lazio – the laying of flowers at the memorial commemorating fallen soldiers of the 2nd Polish Corps;

11.45 a.m. Mignano Monte Lungo – the laying of flowers
at the Italian War Cemetery.

or on May 18, before the ceremony at the checkpoint in front of the entrance to the Monte Cassino Cemetery from 10:00 to 13:30.

Access to the Polish War Cemetery at Monte Cassino will be provided only by shuttle - buses system leaving from Cassino from 10:00 to 11:00 from Piazza Nicholas
